BDA commissioner Bharat Lal Meena, after a review meet on Saturday, said that the ‘Namma Hasiru Maale’, the campaign aimed at protecting government land from encroachers by planting saplings on public places such as tank and lake bunds and the premises of government offices.
In the first phase, 30 lakh saplings will be planted by the end of September this year. The BDA plans to plant 25 lakh saplings and the social forestry wings of Bangalore Urban and Rural districts will cover the rest.
