The movie is a remake of the Amitabh Bachchan starrer film of the same name. The cast includes Hrithik Roshan, Sanjay Dutt and Priyanka Chopra. “I have just finished recording for a song in Agneepath for Hrithik Roshan. It’s a beautiful romantic track,” said Rathod.

The singer considers himself fortunate to get the kind of songs which suit his personality in the era of Hinglish music being made today, which he terms as “sound designing”.

“The kind of songs that are being made today is not music in true sense. Remixing the songs, adding English words to them which might make no sense at all, is sound designing not music,” he said.

So ask him if there is a threat to veteran singers like him who struggle to adapt to these changes and he says, “Yes it definitely affected some. Singers like Udit Narayan and Kumar Sanu weren’t able to adjust and probably that’s the reason they have disappeared.

I am lucky that I didn’t have to change or compromise and got the songs which suited my personality,” Rathod said. The singer has always maintained a low profile in the media and believes in the fact that work should speak for itself.

“I don’t enjoy being in the eyes of media all the time. I like my work to speak for me. That’s more important for an artiste,” he said. The singer has also recorded a song for the movie Zilla Ghaziabad, which stars Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi and Minissha Lamba.
