Sexual abuse: Action against teacher

A written complaint had been given to the Taluk Teachers’ Association and senior officials of the department of public instruction about the indecent behaviour of K R Rangappa of the Camp Government Higher Primary School.

The parents of the girl students had also warned him after beating him, but the teacher failed to mend his ways. The Bhadravati taluk block education officer T N Somashekharaiah recently visited the school and held discussions with the students in this regard.

After the charges were proved, he submitted a report to the higher officials. Following this, Deputy Director of Public Instruction Paramashivappa issued an order suspending Rangappa.
