Addressing the media in Bangalore on Wednesday, Academy’s chairman B V Rajaram also said to mark the celebrations, the Academy was honouring 50 theatre activists. He said that 47 theatre personalities would be bestowed with ‘Suvarna Ranga Sadhaka Award’ on this occasion. Rajaram said that the State government had sanctioned a special grant of Rs 20 lakh for this. The Academy will also publish 50 works.
The 50 awardees will receive Rs 5,000 in cash, a miniature statue of Nataraja, and a shawl.
