Event management company Ashes Events announced this at a press conference held recently. The festival will be held in 13 cities in 12 states.

Avekshan promises to provide a new outlook to college festivals across the globe. Ashes Event comprises mostly young college graduates who have come together to make a difference to the whole college festival scenario.

Avekshan, also known as the 5fiesta will also comprise a Sunday market, an international food festival, a job fair and an education fair apart from the college festival. The grand finale  is scheduled to be held at an overseas location.

About 3,200 colleges from around the country are scheduled to participate and students from all departments will get a chance to showcase their talent. The Avekshan team consists of 1,000 students from across the country who have had the experience of conducting fests at the national or state level.

Sunaina Gupta, Managing Director of Ashes, said, “The idea came to me nine months ago and I decided that the whole scenario of college events should change. This will be one of the biggest events to be held in Asia as we are expecting about 2,80,000 students to participate.”

Registrations will start in September. Students from every department will get a chance to participate. Law students will get a chance to participate in moot courts, while hospitality students will get to participate in ‘Young Chefs’. For fashion designing students, there is ‘Project Runway’ and science students will get to build robots and other crafts.

One of the main attractions will be the international food festival where students can get a taste of different cuisines from around the country and the globe. “At college fests, the food stall is always one of the most important places as everyone wants to eat something. So we want to make it as varied as ever so that there are endless choices,” said Sunaina.

The job fair will have representatives from companies offering information on placements and job prospects while the education fair will have representatives from numerous universities, both within the country and abroad to speak to students about their choices in universities.
