NGO may move court against Dasara expo

Advocate S Arun Kumar who is also the convener of Jagruthi, an NGO, alleged that the tender process lacks transparency. The expo is being awarded on contract for ‘Fun World’ company for the last eight years. Moreover, the same company still has service tax arrears to settle. When this is the gravity of the situation, the authority has bent rules to favour the same party helping him run the show again. It’s a clear violation of law, as the company having arrears are not entitled to participate in the tender. He gave time for two days to both KEA chairman B P Manjunath and chief executive officer M V Hemanth Kumar to set right the erroneous act. He alleged that those at the helm of affairs in the authority are indulging in tender mafia.
