Sringeri gets Rs 15 cr for development work

In a press release issued by the Vice President, he has said that since last few years, crores of rupees have been sanctioned for the development of interior villages and colonies.

The money has been utilised for the betterment of road, drinking water and drainage system. If some of the work has been completed, few work is pending which will be completed by using the money released in the present budget, he said adding that backward Khandya hobli has seen whole lot of development after it was brought under Sringeri assembly limits.

Praising the BJP government, he said: “MLA D N Jeevaraj has brought Rs 15 crore grant to Khandya hobli within three years of the BJP coming to power. The hanging bridge has been built at a cost of Rs 50 lakh which was one of the major demands of the people of this region. A sum of Rs five crore has been released for upgrading Chikmagalur, Sringeri State Highway. Kodi, Shiragola roads have been repaired at a cost of Rs 75 lakh, while Huyigere, Nonaburu road in Bidare Panchayat limits have been repaired at a cost of Rs 66 lakh,” he has informed.

Further, he has said that Rs two crore has been sanctioned for the development of Basapura and Bogase road. A sum of Rs 15 lakh has been utilised for the development of Huyigere and Mavinakatte colonies. Concrete roads and drainages too have been constructed in these villages. A sum of Rs two crore has been used for developing Ampthi-Elekallu road. The MLA has submitted a proposal to the government demanding to sanction Rs four crore for upgrading Ujjaini and Kondadakhan road, said Yogananda.
