Sriramulu, who represents the Bellary Rural Assembly constituency, had resigned from the membership of the Assembly and submitted his resignation letter to Bopaiah on Sunday.
“I am still in Madikeri. I will be reaching Bangalore on Tuesday after which I will peruse it (the resignation letter),” Bopaiah told Deccan Herald.
Sriramulu’s decision came in the backdrop of the Reddy brothers of Bellary being unhappy over being left out of the Cabinet by Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda following their indictment in the Lokayukta report on illegal mining.
However, with the arrest of Janardhana Reddy by the CBI on Monday, Sriramulu’s resignation drama has taken a back seat for the time being.
