JOIN USThe BMRCL incurred the Mayor’s wrath during her meeting with the BMRCL, BESCOM, BWSSB and the BBMP officials. She said Namma Metro should own responsibility and repair all the roads. She also directed the BBMP officials to ensure that the roads are repaired.
Deputy Mayor S Harish who was also present in the meeting, said the Palike has videographed all the roads where the Metro Rail work is underway and found that they are not motorable and test the patience of the commuters.
Harish said, “Repairing the road near Vidhana Soudha alone will not do, BMRCL has to provide motorable roads in other areas where the Metro Rail work has ruined them.”
The leader of the BBMP Council, B R Nanjundappa asked the BMRCL officials to prepare an action plan for all the roads where the Metro Rail work is in progress, and get into action at the earliest.
In the meeting, Metro Rail chief engineers P N Nayak (North), R R Doddihalli (South) and D M Ram Thekar (Reach-2) who were present, assured Sharadamma that they would see to it that the roads are repaired by September 25.
