Parents are taking away the dreams of the children by giving emphasis to English language. The parents should nurture the talents in the child, said Makkala Dwani President K Divya Adiga.
She was speaking at Makkala Dwani 2011 organised by Udupi, Kasargod and Dakshina Kannada Makkala Sahithya Sangama.

Literature can bring in joy amidst all pressure. It protects children from unwanted thoughts. The literature helps in making the kids creative. Love for English language has affected our mother tongue Kannada.” “As a Kannadiga, we should respond to the woes of the Kannadigas. There is a need to inculcate reading habit in every child,” she said.  DK district Kannada Sahithya Parisht President Pradeep Kumar Kalkura released ‘Pathalada genasu’ and ‘kolalu’ on the occasion.
