Chasing a modest target of 247, Zimbabwe got off to a solid start thanks to a blistering knock by Vusi Sibanda (73), but despite Zimbabwe captain Brendan Taylor (84) anchoring the innings well, the hosts could not pull it off in the end, handing Pakistan a 1-0 series lead.
Earlier, Pakistan got to the respectable score of 247 for seven, thanks solid half-centuries from their old guard Younis Khan and captain Misbah-ul-Haq. Younis top-scored with 78 while Misbah chipped in with 54.
