The minister was reacting to BJP General Secretary Arun Jaitley’s criticism that after Chidambaram took charge as Home Minister country witnessed seven blasts and none were solved.

Seeking to counter Jaitley’s charge, Chidambaram questioned the BJP as to why its government in Karnataka failed to crack the Chinnaswamy Stadium bomb blast case.

“The BJP ruled Karnataka is still investigating the stadium blast case and could not crack it,” he said adding that the Centre had been urging the state government to solve the case at the earliest.

State investigation

Even though the Karnataka government itself said it would investigate the case, the state failed to solve it, he said.

Hitting back at Jaitley, the Minister said before making allegation against the Centre, the BJP should ask its own state why it failed to crack the case.

On April 17, 2010, two low intensity bombs exploded outside Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium in Bangalore causing injuries to 17 persons.

The Karnataka police is investigating the incident and none has been arrested so far even after years.
