Tarikere and Ajjampura Block Congress will display black flag before the Chief Minister on September 13, for not fulfilling the assurances given during the last election, said Block Congress President Abdul Ghani.

Speaking to media persons on Saturday, he said that the Chief Minister’s as a MP should be fulfilled.

“Sadananda Gowda had promised that after the elections he would provide justice to the farmers of Tarikere by halting the Upper Bhadra project work and continue the project without harming the farmers. “

“He had promised of dropping the idea of digging canals. But his assurances have remained only on paper and have not been come to reality,” said Abdul Ghani.

“Gowda won the election because of of his assurances to the farmers of giving priority to agriculture and drinking water facility.”

“But, he has not kept his words, instead he is supporting Upper Bhadra project which would cause danger to the lives of farmers,” he said.

He urged the CM to issue an order to stop the project work and opt for CBI enquiry to expose the corruption in implementing the project.

“We would insist the CM to provide drinking water through Hebbe.”

“Upper Bhadra project has been implemented without the approval of the state cabinet,” alleged former MLA B R Neelakantappa.

He said “the project which is against the law is implemented just to loot the money. The unscientific project has been implemented for the last four years. We want the CM to drop the proposal.”
