Speaking to mediapersons after offering ‘bagina’ to Bhadra Reservoir near Bhadravati on Tuesday, he said the question of rejecting Balasubramaniam’s report on land encroachment did not arise as the panel was formed by the State government.

The report would be studied, after studying the Lokayukta report on illegal mining, the chief minister said.

He said the government will adopt Citizen’s Charter system, which has been implemented in Bihar and Gujarat to bring transparency in administration.

He said there is no dearth of funds for the implementation of development projects.

“Officials have been directed to release ample funds for Bhgyalakshmi and Sandhya Suraksha schemes.”

Fake ration card holders

The State government has identified 35 per cent of fake ration card-holders in the State. The government will distribute ration cards to due beneficiaries in two months, he added.
Replying to a query, he said: “We have asked the Centre to provide special packages to the naxal-affected areas at the national co-ordination meet on naxalism.”

Several parts of the State have been receiving good rainfall for the past one month.

However, some districts including Chikmagalur, Chitradurga, Bijapur and Bagalkot are facing drought-like situation. The deputy commissioners concerned have been asked to study problems due to scanty rainfall, he added.
