Darshan row: Shivanna flays ban against actor Nikita

Speaking to media at the inauguration of Kalyan Jewellers, a jewellery showroom on Bangalore- Nilgiri road, in the city, the actor termed the recent decision of Kannada Film Producers Association to ban the actress from Kannada filmdom for a period of three years, as ‘hasty’. Much before acting upon, one has to ponder over the issue, and its impact on the future, the actor said. Continuing further, he said that he would hold talks with actor Ambareesh also the president of Film Artistes Association. Ambareesh is currently on foreign tour and will arrive at a consensus after discussing the issue with him after his return.

However, he declined to comment on the behaviour of Darshan, accused of multiple charges including assaulting his wife Vijayalakshmi and murder attempt on his three year old son Vineesh. On his recent release Jogaiah, the actor claimed that it was a commercial success creating a history in the State. By opening the showroom in Mysore, Kalyan Jewellers claim to have dedicated the biggest facility of 12,000 square feet spread over three floors.

Mayor Pushpalatha Chikkanna, medical education and district in-charge minister S A Ramdas, chairman and managing director, Kalyan Jewellers, T S Kalyanaraman, his sons and executive directors Rajesh Kalyanaraman and Ramesh Kalyanaraman were present.
