Hamilton to have a NICE drive

In an attempt to cash in on the inaugural Formula One Indian Grand Prix at the Buddh International Circuit, Telecommunications major Vodafone Essar will go one better by bringing in former world champion Lewis Hamilton and having him speed down NICE Road on September 27.

Vodafone, who have been partners with McLaren for a couple of years now, also displayed the 2010 version McLaren replica at the Mantri Mall in Malleswaram on Friday, and will keep it on until the end of Saturday. “We have a lot of plans for the Indian Grand Prix. Just today, we brought in a replica of the 2010 car driven by Hamilton to Mantri Mall. People have already started queuing up and taking pictures with the car. It’s the exact kind of response we were looking for,” said Suresh Rangarajan, head public relations for Vodafone.

“What will really draw people is when Lewis drives down NICE road. We have already spotted a good section for him. We also have a couple of contests to go with that. One is the SMEs (Small and Medium enterprises) Race to Fame contest where the winners’ logo will go on the car. The other is the chance for two people to meet the team and the crew,” added Rangarajan.
