Sanchalanam

Insensate and insipid
Last Updated 16 September 2011, 16:40 IST

Touting itself as suspense thriller, director Ramana Reddy’s Sanchalanam seeks to interest Friday, first-day first-show film buffs. However, as the plot is unspooled in the course of rather lackadiscal and loony show, you are left tearing your hair in frustration and furious indignation at the assinine proceedings scurrying towards the exist.

Loaded with fights, fisticuffs and futile chasings one too many, Sanchalanam’s drivel only bores you to death. With nothing working for it, wise thing would be to not venture anywhere near Sanchalanam and its sloppy show. Vikram alias Vikky (Kamalakar) is a jobless engineer who saves a mother and daughter from suicide in the nick of time, only to invite the wrath of rowdies and cops who do not take kindly to his derring-do act. Why and how our do-gooder saves himself from being decimated forms Sanchalanam’s fetid fulcrum.

Given its poor production values, its stars come up with lacklustre performances,  not to forget other departments. There is nothing sensational about Sanchalanam. Stay away!
