The KPCC president is here to campaign for the party’s candidate for the bypolls. Speaking with mediapersons here on Friday, he said even during the tenure of former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, several ministers owned properties worth crores of rupees earned through illegal means. Inquiries are being held against some of them.

Dr Parameshwara said a fraud case had been booked against Forest Minister C P Yogeeshwar. The Serious Fraud In Investigating Office (SFIO), of the Union Ministry for Corporate Affairs, had investigated in 2009 and had levelled serious charges against the Forest Minister. As per the investigations, Yogeeshwar is said to have collected Rs 71 crore, from 9,000 people, under the Megacity project.

The SFIO, in its report, has stated that Yogeeshwar had deceived customers, by collecting large sums from them. He is also charged with several other offences like forgery, providing false information and non-cooperation with the investigating agency.

He said, an FIR had already been filed against the minister, and also, a charge sheet was prepared. Considering these facts, Yogeeshwar should be dropped from the Cabinet, the KPCC president demanded.
