Measures to increase productivity

The conference sought cooperation of states in the implementation of new programmes and initiatives being undertaken by Agriculture Ministry to improve the productivity of various crops, an official statement said.

Expressing concern on the reports of fertilizers being sold above the MRP, it urged the state to exercise utmost vigilance to prevent smuggling of fertilizers.

It also came out with advises for the states to specially concentrate on critical areas such as availability of credit to farmers, soil testing and health cards to achieve the targeted production.
