Muddannanagar school becomes a RWH model

The school had implemented Suvarna Jala Yojane in 2005-06 under which Rain Water Harvesting system was set up.

The rain water harvesting aims at creating awareness on rain water harvesting among the children and the community, said SDMC President Shankara S Shetty.

The department of Information and Field publicity had recently visited the school and had documented the management of rain water in the school.

The set up, owing to lack of maintenance, the tank was not cleaned regularly and the school had to depend on nearby well or panchayat water. With the keen interest of  Headmaster Saccharipete Sudheer Nayak, walls of the school building, tank highlighted the pictures to show the importance of rain water harvesting. Inspite of Sanoor Gram Panchayat supplying free water to the school, the school depends on rain water for its daily chores for four months in a year.
