Stolen property recovered

Police said the suspects were involved in 319 cases, including armed robbery, extortion, burglary and vehicle thefts. The recovered properties include five kg gold ornaments, 15 kg silver articles, 167 two-wheelers, eight tricycles, 20 four-wheelers, 19 laptops and 52 cellphones.

The RMC Yard police cracked the sensational case of theft at a jewellery shop in JC Nagar last month and arrested Mamu, 42, from Denkanikote, Krishnagiri district, Tamil Nadu; Sadiqulla Khan, 26, Imtiyaz, 28, Muzamil Pasha, 23, from Bommanahalli; Mohammad Nayaz, 48, from Jayanagar; Sunil Tapa, 34, and Bharath, 42, both from Bazang District in Nepal. Police seized jewellery worth Rs 46.78 lakh, a car and Rs 39 lakh in cash, and silver articles worth Rs 2.28 lakh.

The suspects struck at Chandan Jewellers on August 22 night. Three police teams
investigated in Bangalore, Mys­ore, Kerala, Andhra Prad­esh and Tamil Nadu. “Mamu is the kingpin of the heist. They had handed over the stolen property to Sunil and Bharath. Search is on for four others involved in the case,” said Police inspector M Nagaraj.
