Trickster meets his waterloo

Balaji Naidu, said to be an agent of Devi Real Estate, reportedly used the photographs of local legislator Nandish Reddy and corporator Geetha Vivekananda in a handbill circulated among residents, claiming that the government had taken up an initiative to supply Cauvery water to ward number 81 (Vignana Nagar) and that the residents had to submit certain documents to the corporator’s office. Naidu is also said to have told the corporator that BWSSB had awarded him a contract as an agent for collection of money towards water connections.

Geetha said Naidu was never awarded a contract and despite bringing the matter to the notice of the BWSSB, no action was taken against him.

However, when BWSSB learnt about the handbill, it filed a complaint with the HAL police. The station inspector said Naidu was arrested four days ago and sent to Parappana Agrahara jail. However, he is now out on bail. BWSSB has warned residents not to entertain such frauds.
