Darshan back in jail

The ‘Challenging Star’ was arrested by Vijayanagara police on September 9 on the charge of assaulting his wife, and was remanded in judicial custody for 14 days. Soon he was shifted to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases for asthma.

However, it was back to square one for Darshan, as the sessions court rejected his bail plea on Tuesday. The doctors at the hospital had certified that his health was back to normal.

Around 2 pm, Darshan, who was discharged from hospital, was taken straight to the prison. After a routine check-up by the jail doctors, he was moved to a high-security room inside the jail.

The jail authorities were unable to produce Darshan in the court on Wednesday as his judicial custody was coming to an end. Later, in the second session, the actor was produced to the court through video conferencing and his custody was extended till October 4. Darshan’s advocate Raghavendra Reddy said they would approach the High Court.
