Warriors not wary of Gayle

“We know his capabilities, we know that he can single-handedly take the game away from teams,” Warriors coach Piet Botha conceded here on Thursday. “But we have some tricks up our sleeve. After all, he too is only a human being and can make mistakes. We hope to get rid of him early.”

Botha added that he and his wards had enough knowledge of the Challengers’ style of play. “We have done our homework. We have seen them play, we watched most of their IPL games, and are looking forward to playing against them.”

Last year’s runners-up will be without the influential Davey Jacobs, who not only led the side but also played a key role as an opening batsman.
