Srilatha begins hunger strike

Speaking to Deccan Herald, she said that there was no response from the Home Minister who assured to produce her husband before her within 48 hours on August 7. But the government is least concerned of the issue. “I waited for 5 days for the Home Minister to take action. He is not reacting. Even the Deputy Commissioner has not come down to visit me. She should have at least worried about my pregnant status and made a courtesy call,” she accused.

Earlier in the morning, Keshav Koteshwar, Head of Spoorthidham, the orphanage where Srilatha is staying, visited DC Hemalatha in her chamber and appealed her to take action. Hemalatha assured to hold the talks with SP Prawin Pawar on the issue and try to find out where Bharath is.

District Congress Women’s wing President Veronica Cornelio, TP member Bhagyalaxmi, in-charge TP President Sathish Poojary, Hemmadi Manasa Yuvathi Mandala member Savithri Balegarthi, advisor Annapurna and others were present.
