Dissatisfied over the halting of construction work at the Centre’s new building near Mangasandra in the taluk, students took out a protest rally on Thursday. It is saddening that they still had to listen to lectures under a tree on Friday.

For the past 15 years, the PG Centre has been functioning in the Boys’ Government First Grade College building. The college is experiencing shortage of classrooms, as three new postgraduate divisions are being introduced. As a result the management of the Government First Grade College was forced to ask the PG Centre’s director to vacate the classrooms, leading to the current situation.

The management is in a fix, as the construction of its new building has been halted. However, students are the worst affected in the current crisis.

The director of the PG Centre visited the Vice Chancellor on Friday urging him to help continue the construction work of the Centre’s new building.
