CM on a letter-writing spree

He has written to Jayanti Natarajan requesting for a clearance on diverting 240 acres and 10 guntas of deemed forest land in Tumkur for the construction of Tumkur University campus.

In the letter, he has said Tumkur is one of the most backward district and the State has decided to set up a university campus in the districts.

The forest land has been identified as there is no other single tract of land anywhere in Tumkur.

All the details sought by the ministry have been furnished along with the original topographical sheet map.

In view of the urgency for establishment of the university, the clearance should be given at the earliest, Gowda has said in the letter dated September 21.
