CM on a letter-writing spree

He has written to Jayanti Natarajan requesting for a clearance on diverting 240 acres and 10 guntas of deemed forest land in Tumkur for the construction of Tumkur University campus.

In the letter, he has said Tumkur is one of the most backward district and the State has decided to set up a university campus in the districts.

The forest land has been identified as there is no other single tract of land anywhere in Tumkur.

All the details sought by the ministry have been furnished along with the original topographical sheet map.

In view of the urgency for establishment of the university, the clearance should be given at the earliest, Gowda has said in the letter dated September 21.

Special trains

In the letter to K H Muniyappa, the chief minister has requested for special trains from Mangalore to Mysore during Dasara festival on a daily basis.

Sadananda Gowda has placed the request stating that a large number of tourists are likely to visit Mysore between September 26 and October 10.

Letters to PM

Gowda has written two separate letters to Manmohan Singh. In one letter, he has requested Singh for an appointment to discuss the possible support the Centre could extend for improving basic amenities and improving the standards of living of the people in Belgaum.

In another letter, Gowda has said Minister R Ashoka and V Dhananjay Kumar, Special Representative of Karnataka in Delhi, would meet him (Singh) to invite him for inauguration of the Namma Metro in Bangalore. Gowda sought an early date convenient to the prime minister for the inauguration.
