Security beefed up for Dasara

Six check posts in place

A meeting presided by Superintendent of Police Manjunath Annigeri has decided to make all necessary arrangement for the Dasara. The meeting was attended by DySP J D Prakash, Circle Inspectors Sathish Kumar, Prakash Gowda, S I Shanmuga, Dashamantapa Committee President G V Rabikumar and others.

Six check posts

For the security reason, as many as six check posts will be opened in Madikeri. The check posts will be near Pump house on Moornadu road, Kodagu Vidayalaya Junction in Siddapura road, on the welcome arch on Mysore road, Sampigekatti Junction on Somwarpet road, ITI at Galibeedu road and near Maithri Junction.

Parking

The parking areas will be marked at seven places in Madikeri. They are Field Marshal K M Cariappa College ground, St Joseph convent maidan, Shanthi Church maidan (for two-wheelers only), Junior College maidan, the big curve on Mangalore road and near pump house on Moornadu road.

The movement of vehicle will be diverted on October 6.

All the vehicles from Mysore will have to travel via Sampigekatte-A V School-Muthappa temple-St Joseph’s convent-SP office junction-ITI Jucntion and park at FMC College maidan. Vehicles from Siddapura, Moornadu and Mangalore should park at RMC maidan.

Parking arrangement has been made for the vehicles from Galibeedu, Abbeyfalls, Somwarpet and Kaloor region at FMC College maidan and St Joseph convent maidan. Vehicles coming from Virajpet will have to be parked near pumphouse on Moornadu road.
Ban on parking

The authorities will ban parking of vehicles on either sides of the road from General Thimmaiah Circle to KSRTC depot, Kundurumotte temple to Gandhi Mantapa, M M Circle, General Thimmaiah Circle to private bus stand, Indira Circle, College road, SBI Junction, Ganapathi street and on Mahadevapete.

As Madikeri city will be crowded on October 6 after 4 pm, the entry of all the vehicles inside the city has been banned. The visit of tourists and vehicles to Abbey falls and Golf maidan has been banned from October 6 at 4 pm to October 7 at 10 pm.

If anyone finds any unclaimed tiffin box, radio or bag, then it should be brought to the notice of police control room at: 100, 228330 or 229333
