Talking to Metrolife, Deepa says, “I wish Darshan Sir was here to see the release but the team is making sure everything goes right.”

Having waited for one-and-a-half years for the release, Deepa says a part of her is extremely anxious to see herself onscreen. “I play the role of a traditional girl who is a chatterbox. It is a lot on the lines of what yesteryear actress Manjula used to portray onscreen. There were so many challenging times but the director, Dinakar, helped me out a lot considering it was my first film,” she adds.

Deepa has also completed the shoot of Paramathma, directed by Yograj Bhat, starring Puneeth Rajkumar and will soon start shooting for a Preetham Gubbi film opposite Yash. Despite all this, she says there is something extremely special about her first film. But looking back, Deepa feels that there were many scenes in which she feels she could have done better. “With each film, one always gains more experience. And now that I have learnt so much, I feel there were things I could have done better. But I am still proud of the film,” she states.

Now that she is three films old, Deepa says with work comes more responsibility. “The response and the attention I have received even before the release of my first film have been very flattering and I feel it is my responsibility to live upto everyone’s expectations and give my best in each film,” she adds.

Offers have been pouring in from other industries as well but the actress strictly wants to take her time before taking the next step. “Right now, I have many commitments to fulfill in the Kannada film industry. Only then shall I think about acting in Tamil or Telugu films,” she says.
