Last Updated 29 September 2011, 18:24 IST

Krishna is facing criminal charges in connection with the alleged malpractice in recruitments by the KPSC in 1998, 1999 and 2004. He was the KPSC chairman when alleged irregularities took place.

Some of the aggrieved candidates had approached the court which had ordered a CID inquiry in 2008. Krishna had approached the High Court seeking anticipatory bail, but did not get relief.

The CID has submitted its inquiry report to the government. The Congress had petitioned the Governor seeking removal of Krishna as the information commissioner. The term of Krishna was to expire in May 2012.
