The CBI in its charge sheet stated that on the occasion of her birthday in 1992, the AIADMK supremo had accepted 89 demand drafts worth Rs two crore from 57 people drawn on various banks on her name.
Jayalalithaa had moved the high court, seeking to quash the entire proceedings. She had also filed another petition challenging an order of the designated CBI court, dismissing her application seeking discharge from the case.
