Villagers protest officials' apathy

Hundreds of women and youth who took part in the protest, alleged that the officials are not paying heed to their problems and are turning a deaf ear.

They raised slogans against the erring officials who had failed to attend to their problems from the past two months.

When a centre of panchayat like Chikkankandahalli is facing water crisis, how can other villages hope of getting water? they questioned.

They demanded the officials  to come to the spot and refused to move out till the officials came to the spot and listened to their grievances.

However, they withdrew their protest after taluk panchayat president Bharathi Bheemanna and Chikkandahalli gram panchayat president C H Nagaraj assured them of the visit of taluk panchayat executive officer and Zilla Panchayat AEE to the village to analyse the situation and find a suitable solution to water crisis.

Gram panchayat member Raveendra, Nagaraju, Manjulamma, Anupama, Radhamma, Hanumappa, Shanthamma, Sunandamma, Devaraju, Prakash and others led the protest.
