<p>The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) district president Muneer Katipalla filed a complaint before the Lokayukta against the former Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) commissioner P G Ramesh in connection with the allegation of disposal of 298 official files within a single day. <br /><br />Katipalla stated in the complaint that the commissioner, who was transferred from MCC, has violated norms by signing 298 files, on his last working day without proper scrutiny. <br /><br />Katipalla alleged that the commissioner had cleared files before obtaining site inspection reports from the engineers concerned. Moreover, permission was also granted for a 25 story building. “An inquiry should be conducted by the Lokayukta to unearth the facts,” he urged adding that action should be recommended against the guilty.</p>
