Police will conduct special patrolling in and around the City today (August 15) in order to maintain special vigilance in the backdrop of Independence Day celebrations.
Sources said the police will specifically conduct alcohol tests on the vehicle users near the beaches, such as those in Panambur, Surathkal, Thannerbavi, Someshwar and Ullal.
The public are also advised to leave the beaches before 8 pm, the sources said.
