Talented musicians like David Mozsko, Karthik Mani and Yedi Govindan delivered upbeat performances. The event also saw young students of the World Music Center performing which left the audience impressed.

Some of the more experienced musicians who played alongside the children were popular fusion artiste Sangeetha Srikishen on the vocals, VVS Murari on the violin, David Mozsko from France on the saxophone, Karthik Mani and Gopi on the percussion and Floyd Santimano from Goa, on the keyboard.

The concert aimed to bring together diverse genres of music and club them together in a mind-blowing fusion experience that the audience was unlikely to forget. The blend included strains of classical, folk and Sufi tunes as well as popular and contemporary music that the younger section of the audience was able to relate with.

Playing instruments like the keyboard, electric guitar and drums, some of the students of the World Music Center had the audience tapping their feet to current and upbeat numbers like ‘Boulevard of Broken Dreams’, by Greenday and ‘Rocking in a Free World’, by Neil Young, the legendary singer and song writer.

Akash, a young student of the World Music Center, dazzled all who had assembled there by showing an incredible talent on the electric guitar. He also belted out a few songs and performed a racy guitar solo, much to the audience’s delight.

Next up was a soulful rendition of the song ‘Summer Time’, sung by Shivani. She was accompanied on the violin by Anusha, one of the youngest musicians lined up for the evening, and supported by senior musicians like Steve on the guitar, and Gopi on the world percussion.

It was a slow, melodious piece that had the audience mesmerised in seconds. Especially stunning was the confident, skilled manner in which Anusha played the tunes on the violin, despite her young age.

The audience was later told that both the girls had only been rehearsing for four or five days to deliver this wonderful piece, and had been waking up at five in the morning to get enough hours of practice. Akash took to the stage once more after this, this time playing a piece that was composed by him and the other musicians themselves.
