BJP stages protest against Centre's attitude

Last Updated 18 October 2011, 18:24 IST

Speaking at the protest rally organized at clock tower near service bus stop on Tuesday MLA Raghupathy Bhat said the state government is deprived from the right of drawing minimum power from the central grid. The central government’s attitude obviously indicates that it is biased towards state government.

“We need justice. The state government is the victim of negligence at the hands of the centre,” he said. District President Uday Kumar Shetty informed that the protest against central government is held in all the districts of state.  Congress led UPA government is not helping the state government.

State government had initiated power projects generating as many as 8,000 mega watts. It is the right of state government to receive about 1,549 mega watts of power from central grid but the central government is providing only 200 mega watts of power.

This behavior of central government is politically motivated. He said Congress has forgotten the CWG and 2G spectrum scams and is engaged in maligning the state government.

“Days are not far for Home Minister Chidambaram to go behind bars. BJP is abided to its moral ideologies that made the party to immediately bring down B S Yeddyurappa from power.

Congress seems to be not satisfied and is continuing to create obstacles in the administration of non corrupt and clean Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda.  If central government is not providing the assured amount of power and coal, BJP will take up rigorous protest against the central government.

We will come to the streets to fight against central government’s conduct,” he added.A memorandum was submitted to DC Dr M T Reju.
