<p>TEDxNITKSURATHKAL aims to provide a stage for eminent personalities across India to speak to and inspire students. <br /><br />The event boasts of a plethora of speakers: specialists in diverse topics, some being technology, music, sustainable entrepreneurship and magic. These include Dr. Rishikesha Krishnan, Professor at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB), Kumaresh of the famed violin duo- ‘Ganesh-Kumaresh,’ the eminent rationalist Narendra Nayak and Bhavna Toor, former Miss India-New York and a keen social entrepreneur, to mention a few among many. At TEDxNITKSurathkal, these speakers along with screened TED videos will create an atmosphere congenial to innovation, informed a release from NITK.<br /><br />To promote ideas at college level, an Ideas Contest, is being organised. Contestants are invited to submit an idea that they feel is worth spreading, in the form of an essay. The best 20 will get the opportunity to experience TEDxNITKSURATHKAL, with all expenses covered, including travel, accommodation, food and entry fee.<br /><br />Passes for the event will be available at Pabbas, MG Road on October 21 and 22, <br />between 5 pm and 8 pm and also at the Institute prior to the event. <br /><br />For further details, contact Ramabhadran at 988046273.<br /><br />Blueprint<br /><br />Blueprint, the flagship paper presentation event of ‘Engineer 2011,’ the annual tech fest of NITK, Surathkal, will be held from October 26 to 30. Participants are invited to present papers on any technical topic pertaining to the different branches of engineering. Prizes worth Rs 80,000 are up for grabs.<br /><br />Blueprint attracts some of the best minds from all over the country and gives them a platform to nurture their ideas and put them forth in front of an experienced panel of judges.<br /><br />Blueprint 2010 saw zealous participation with around 250 papers submitted from all over India. Selected papers were presented at the institute. Engineer 2011 brings Blueprint in Computer, Civil, Chemical, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical engineering, Mining, Material Science, and Management. <br /><br />All event finals will be held at NITK and the venues will be announced soon, informed the release. <br /><br />Last date for abstract submission is October 21.<br /></p>
