Room boy stabs manager 32 times

He nursed a grudge over his boss for sacking him

A room boy, who was sacked recently, stabbed a lodge manager 32 times after slitting his throat, at a lodge room in Jayanagar in the Tilaknagar police limits on Friday morning.

Binod Pradhan, 35, the manager of Hotel Sri Sai Lodging in Jayanagar 9th Block, had recently fired Loksong, a Tibetan national, for being workshy. Loksong, however, managed to stay in the lodge.

On Thursday night, Pradhan took Loksong to task, warning him of action if he did not vacate his room.

In the wee hours of Friday morning, Loksong, using a duplicate key, gained entry into Room 2 where Pradhan was fast asleep and allegedly slit his throat before stabbing him 32 times, police said.

A native of Assam, Pradhan had come to Bangalore four years ago. His wife and children live in Darjeeling.

Tanker owner murdered

In another incident, two unidentified men stabbed a water tanker owner to death early on Friday morning in the HSR Layout police limits. Police gave the name of the victim as Udayshankar Reddy, 52, a resident of Bellandur in HSR Layout.

Reddy, also an “influential” owner of a few houses in the area, had recently fired two of his drivers — Ramakrishna and Manjunath Reddy — following a dispute with them. Reddy hired a new driver, Santosh, who stayed in a room on the terrace of Reddy’s house. He was to leave around 2.30 am to supply water.

According to police, Santosh called Reddy over the phone late on Thursday night and informed that his room had been locked from outside. When Reddy went upstairs to help Santosh, the suspects followed him and stabbed him on his neck and throat. They fled as Reddy collapsed crying for help. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where he died.

Police suspect the involvement of Ramakrishna and Manjunath in the murder as they had vowed to settle scores with Reddy for sacking them.

BE graduate stabbed

An engineering graduate was allegedly stabbed to death by his roommate over a petty issue. The victim was identified as Saran, 27, a resident of Rajendra Naidu building, CKG Layout, Munekolalu. He was staying with seven friends in a two-bedroom house in the first floor.

A native of Nellore in Andhra Pradesh, Saran was hunting for a job for the last six months. Some of the victim’s roommates were also searching for jobs, while others worked in private companies.

Srinivasalu, who had failed BTech, picked a quarrel with Saran over a trivial issue, and in a fit of anger, stabbed him several times. Saran was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Ashok, one of the victim’s friends, lodged a complaint with the police who arrested Srinivasalu.
