Anima Das, 35, is a student of eleventh standard in Basirhat Dandirhaat Nagendra Kumar Higher Secondary school in North 24 Parganas district who has no qualms to study with her son Palash.
It is again a sheer quirk of fate that the mother-son duo share the same subjects – Sanskrit, History, Philosophy, Political Science and English, headmaster of the school Dipak Ranjan Mondal told Deccan Herald.
Anima quit studies when she was in the ninth standard, in the wake of her marriage.
However, the woman’s zest for studies remained dormant and encouraged by her in-laws, Anima took admission in the ninth standard at Pipha Rabindra Open School in 2005 and cleared the 10th exam in 2009.
