Advani 'yatra' should not enter State: Cong

Addressing a news conference on Wednesday, Rai said that from a bunch of cabinet ministers to the former chief minister, are all behind the bars facing charges of corruption. In such a scenario, what relevance will the ‘Yathra’ hold?

Publicity stunt
“The yathra seems more like a ‘Vikalachethana Yathra’ (relating to the disabled) rather than being ‘Navachethana Yathra’. Through the Yathra, BJP intends to gain more and more publicity and thus hush up the mistakes and blunders committed by them,” said Rai adding that during the Yathra, Advani will speak only about the corruption cases of the Centre and not of the State. “The yathra is basically for their own gains,” Ramanath Rai  said.

Attack on Ravi
Coming down heavily on the statement made by BJP State General Secretary C T Ravi that the Congress production unit has been spoilt, Rai said that Congress had produced some of the greatest leaders not only at the national but even at the district level. Unfortunately, BJP does not even have one such leader to show.

“This kind of derogatory statement not only speaks a volume on the personality of the person speaking but also sheds light on the status of the party. Ravi should think before he speaks because he himself is said to have made crores of rupees within no time of entering politics.”

“The series of ministers entering the jail shows which party’s production unit has been spoilt,” said Rai adding that this kind of attitude only shows BJP’s political bankruptcy.
