Councillor takes exception to remarks

In a statement released here on Monday, Muraligowda has said that the minister, who took part in the Independence Day celebrations organised by the district administration, later accepted felicitation at the BJP office and passed “unwarranted comments” on Deve Gowda and Kumaraswamy. He has forgotten of taking political advantage from the both, on previous occasions, the release said.

Arrests condemned
Meanwhile, Republican Party of India has condemned the arrest of leaders in the backdrop of Malur bundh call on Monday. The party, in a press statement released here on Monday has stated that leaders were arrested on Monday morning. It has warned of formulating a talukwide protest exposing the “scams” in which Krishnaiah Setty is involved and a public campaign will be launched demanding his resignation.
