Bookie at turf club robbed of Rs 4 lakh

Ashok Bhatra was on his way back home in his car, carrying his day’s earnings of Rs four lakh in a suitcase.

The miscreants attacked him by throwing chilly powder in his eyes, as he got down from the car to enter his house in HAL IV Stage. They snatched the suitcase and fled. A case has been registered.

Shop looted

Mobile phones worth Rs 15 lakh were stolen from the Universal Mobile Store in Malleswaram on Sunday. Employees of the store found shutters broken open.

At least 125 mobile phones and cash amounting to Rs 26,000 were missing from the shop. A case has been registered.

Hotel employee killed

An hotel employee was killed near the Koramangala checkpost in the early hours of Monday. The deceased has been identified as Krishna Reddy. Reddy, an employee of Hotel Empire, was returning home after finishing his work at the hotel, when he was hit by an unidentified vehicle. Reddy died on the spot.  A report has been registered.

Gold, cash stolen

Gold jewellery and cash were stolen from an NRI’s room in a hotel at Jayanagar 2nd block on Sunday.

The complainant Hemalatha told police that jewellery (worth at Rs 91,000) and money (76$) were stolen when she was away visiting her mother.
