<p>Felicitating the drivers and conductors, ZP Member Radha Sundaresh said that a positive transformation can be brought about by working for the welfare of the society, without any selfishness.<br /><br />Inaugurating the programme District Court Public Prosecutor O L Mahendra said that co-operative transport has been a blessing for rural population, specifically the students. He said that the organisation has further become a model by providing prathibha puraskar to students.<br /><br />Taluk Journalists’ Association President B S Sheshadri recalled the contributions of B K Sundaresh to the society and said that he played pivotal role in shaping up co-operative transport.<br /><br />Presiding over the programme, G R Vishwanath said that the workers in the co-operative transport are illiterate and while building the organisation, they had decided to support education. This year children were felicitated and next year sportsmen will be felicitated.<br />Students from over 50 high schools from Koppa, Sringeri and NR Pura, who passed with first rank were felicitated. <br /><br />Vishnumurthy, Padmanabha, Shekar, Ravindra, Dharmegowda won the best driver award while Mahesh, Somashekar, Shivanna, Prakash, Pushpavathi bagged the best conductor award.
