Man kills wife, hangs self

The deaths came to light on Friday when police broke open the house after neighbours complained of foul smell.

Police said Ravi (30) and Lakshmi were married for four years and had no children. The couple quarreled often, and three days ago, neighbours heard them screaming, police said.

Peenya police have registered a case of murder.

Two commit suicide

Two persons committed suicide in separate incidents in the City on Thursday night.
Manjula (34), a garment factory worker, hanged herself to death from the ceiling of her house at Brindavananagar on Thursday night.

Manjula was said to be dejected over husband Kumar’s drinking habit. The couple, married for 14 years, had no children. However, Manjula’s parents told the police Kumar might have killed his wife as he often assaulted her.

In another incident, Revanna (26), an accountant with an IT company, was found hanging at his residence in Raghavendra Block.

According to police, he ended his life as his parents were planning his marriage. In a death note recovered at his house, Revanna had said he was disappointed with life.

Medical negligence alleged

A nine-month-old baby girl died allegedly after she was administered a vitamin injection at a government health centre at Ranganathapura in the Kamakshipalya police station limits on Thursday afternoon.

Nisarga’s parents have accused the hospital of administering an expired drug, resulting in the death of their daugther.

On Friday, Prema took her child to the government hospital. After getting a Vitamin A injection administered to her, she returned home and found the baby dull and listless. Prema told the police she thought her baby was tired because of incessant crying, and put laid her on the cot. At about 3 pm, Prema noticed the child frothing at the mouth and rushed her to a nearby hospital where the doctor declared her dead.

Kamakshipalya police are investigating.
