CM admits giving into pressure on transfers

Last Updated 05 November 2011, 18:50 IST

“On more than one occasion, I had to succumb to pressure when it came to transfer of officials. But today, I am not falling prey to any compulsions,” he said.

In a brief tete-a-tete with Deccan Herald, Gowda said his job was tough. “I was given this opportunity during challenging times. The circumstances were critical. I am trying my best to overcome the setbacks. I have no crazy ideas. My party has drawn up good plans and programmes, which I would like to take forward,” he added.

Senior BJP leader L K Advani recently praising Gowda’s performance as chief minister, has also added to his problems. “Ever since his praise, the expectations from me have gone up. I don’t think that it was really a praise. I think it was more of a warning from Advani, asking me to work more earnestly,” he added.
