Fuel price hike flayed

He also criticised the state government for levying the highest tax on the fuel which has skyrocketed the prices in the state.

Nagaraj staged a unique protest by taking a tonga ride to register his anger at the hike in prices of petroleum products. The former MLA took a tonga ride from the palace and passed through Irwin road, Ashoka road and suburban bus stand demanding for a immediate rollback of the hike.

Talking to reporters, Vatal Nagaraj said the huge increase in the prices of petrol, diesel and LPG had made the common man sulk. The hike in petroleum fuel is having its ripple effect on the prices of essential commodities.

The state government levies the highest tax on petrol and diesel making the commodity dearer in the state. The state must bring down the tax, Nagaraj urged.
