JOIN USThe members claimed that the minister has issued such a statement after the suicide of a panchayat development officer. He should not suspect the other members, keeping this in mind. The minister should observe that most of the PDOs do not have sufficient experience, which might be the reason for development taking a back seat.
The members took out a protest march from the Silver Jubilee Park to Zilla Panchayat office and staged a dharna for sometime. Later, they submitted a memorandum to ZP CEO. The memorandum included demands to provide opportunity to the candidates of the district while selecting them for the posts.
They blamed the attitude of the PDOs towards the members and alleged of corruption against them and the government should look into the matter.
