Global m2m market seen at $1.5 billion

Such devices use different types of wireless communication platforms, depending on the usage, like GSM/ GPRS, UMTS, CDMA or even radio frequencies (RF).

The simplest example of m2m is unlocking a car door by pressing a button on the key.

In India too the market is growing at rapid rate of 30 per cent per annum, though there is estimated figure for total market size, said Telit Communications Country Sales Manager Ashish Gulati.

The core focus of Telit in India is to offer wireless m2m solutions in the areas of Automated meter Reading (AMR), Remote Monitoring (Telemetry), Tracking and point of sales (PoS devices).  The advantage of m2m solutions is that they do not require high-speed data network.
