Andhra MLAs turn green seeing their peers in K'taka

Seeing separate A/C chambers given to MLAs, MLCs, MPs, along with personal secretaries, telephone connections and various other facilities, the team of MLAs led by AP Assembly deputy speaker Mallubhatti Vikramarka said Karnataka undoubtedly stands first in the country in extending facilities to its representatives. The team decided to demand their government to extend similar facilities.

Addressing an interaction programme at Fort premises on Thursday, they said in their state MLAs do not have separate chamber, secretary and telephone lines.

Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah explained about various facilities provided by the government to elected representatives. He said every MLA, MLC, MP is given a office in the constituency along with one personal secretary and telephone connection. All equipment and furniture for the office is also provided by the government. However, the telephone bill is paid by the MLA, said Bopaiah.

Chief Whip in AP Assembly Kondru Murali Mohana, members Venkataramana Reddy, Jaipal Yadav and Payyavula Keshava were in the team. Deputy secretary K Sathyanarayana Rao, Kodagu DC N V Prasad, additional DC K M Chandregowda among others were present.

Janaspandana

The team expressed interest in learning more about the KDP meet, Janaspandana programme and grievances meet functional in the state.

The team said it will take all necessary steps to start such programmes in the state.
