Rahul fails to recognise R P Singh

RP, who hails from the neighbouring Rae Bareli district, was attending a programme at Pakar village in the Tiloi Assembly segment of Amethi.

After the programme, Rahul got down from the dais and went past a row of waiting villagers without recognising RP, who was also standing there, according to sources.

Rahul, however, turned back after a local Congress leader told him that the cricketer was there to meet him. The excited Congress leader then shook hands with the pacer.

Rahul is known to be a big cricket fan. “He may not have seen RP Singh,” quipped a state Congress leader.
